Founder & lead preparator

Francesco Guzzo

Born and raised in Sicily, Italy, Francesco Guzzo's passion for minerals began at the age of eight and has evolved into a lifelong dedication to mineral collecting, geology, and specimen preparation. His early field exploration led him to discover and study mineral occurrences across his region, while working with his own finds sparked a particular interest in mineral preparation techniques, from chemical cleaning to mechanical trimming.

A graduated geologist from the Universities of Palermo and Padua, Italy, Francesco combined his studies with a strong interest in chemistry and years of practical experience in mineral preparation laboratories in Milan, allowing him to refine his technical skills and develop his own approach to specimen preparation.

Today, Francesco brings together a thorough knowledge of geology and chemistry, with numerous years of experience in mineral preparation techniques, combined with field experience, and meticulous craftsmanship. Francesco is the leader of The Mineral Studio, and he is widely recognized among the top mineral preparators worldwide.
